Artist Statement

Certain observations excite me in my daily experiences.

I take these motivating occurrences and incorporate them into an installation where their essence becomes a primary focus. The viewer then experiences what normally would be an understated observation.  This is usually done in a direct and minimal way, creating a quiet, subtle, intimate piece in which viewers can spend time.

My work is site-specific.  Many factors come into play when developing an idea: the environment itself and the energy a space holds.  The architectural elements of shape, size, structural materials, light, and location also play a role.  Sometimes the history of the space or building becomes an inspirational factor as well. My work is based on these elements and the obscure observations of life.
